In her Hudson River Valley workshop, Carole and her team make each adorable, green cloche by hand, exclusively for Uno Alla Volta. After the braided straw base is shaped on a heated mold, it is adorned with a rich green satin band and accented with velvet iris and leaves. Approx. 22.5'' inner circumference.

In her quaint workshop, tucked in between the winding village streets in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Carole, our milliner, designs each of our show-stopping hats. Following her creative combinations of shape, color, and texture, her team of highly skilled, specialized artisans handcraft each hat, uno alla volta. First, each base is formed on a heated mold, trimmed, and hemmed, before cooling and it is sent off to the decorating team for a final touch of old-world, artisanal magic.

Nice hat, though slightly small for my head. Not quite a snug classic cloche, though this works well for a contemporary look. I’m also seeking a 20s look; this is fine. The ornament is all green with no orange hue—for my purposes this is much better. But FYI it is not as pictured.

I absolutely love this green cloche! The extra special feature is the drawstring inside the brim to adjust to ones head size. All of the other hats I have ordered from Uno Alla Volta were too big in diameter & needed hat inserts. I hope Carole continues to add this feature on all her hats as it is definitely appreciated.
