She throws each mug on a pottery wheel and adds the hand-cut butterfly details and a smooth handle. Then she twice-fires each piece for everlasting beauty. No two are exactly alike. Microwave and dishwasher safe. Approx. 4.5'' tall, holds 14 oz.

Nearly every day you will find JoAnn sitting at the potter’s wheel in her Pocono Mountain studio, her mind and hands spinning new designs to delight us. She shapes each vessel on her wheel before hand-forming each smile-inducing embellishment. Each is high-fired, dipped in specially formulated glazes, and fired again to attain the deep, rich colors.

Beautiful!

The picture you show in the book doesn't do this small gem any justice. Small but packs a powerful wallop when you see it . The butterfly simply adds to the beauty of this mug. A treasure for sure.

I was impressed with the beautiful detail of this mug and the dramatic colors. I have a collection of many of Joann's mugs. This is one of the prettiest.

2 Monarch mugs

I love all of the many mugs I have that Joann has made, but this is one of my favorites. The colors are so vibrant and the butterfly is beautiful! Makes me smile when I pull it out of the cabinet for my morning coffee!!
