Six majestic African animals encircle the rim of this dramatic serving piece, meticulously hand-carved out of native jacaranda wood by Akamba tribesmen in Mombasa, Kenya, each a master at his craft. Once carved, the wood is sanded to a smooth finish and hand-painted with natural colored dyes. A clear wax hand-finish gives shine and character to each piece. Recommended for use with dry snacks only, such as whole fruits or nuts. No two are exactly alike. Some bowls may not have a patterned rim. Approx 12 in. x 7 in. x 4 in.

Perfect housewarming gift

I ordered this for my nephew and his wife, who recently moved from NYC to suburbs with their two children, 5 and 2, as a housewarming gift. Not a toy, but a piece of art handmade from Kenya, beautiful to see for its creatively carved figures on circular parade. I was thrilled.

Safari bowl

This safari bowl is absolutely beautiful. I have been to Kenya and appreciate the impressive workmanship of the Akamba tribesmen. I have it placed on a table in my dining room and find myself frequently going in there to admire the stunning craftsmanship I also want to give a shoutout to Anthony the customer service representative who helped me find my bowl. He in turn told me his supervisor also helped. I previously worked as a flight attendant for a major airline and know how important good customer service is. Thank you Anthony for all your help and a job well done.

I had been looking at the Safari bowl for a while. I finally purchased it and I am very pleased with it. The wood carving is amazing. Glad I finally got it.
